The Meredith Community Centre has a range of facilities for use by any member of the public. Since our inception we have continually upgraded and maintained our facilities as the needs of our programs and community has required. Beginning in 1988 with just the old school house, we have added the studio for extra classroom and meeting space as well as extending the main building to accommodate our growing needs.
During this upgrade, we added a modern kitchen which enables us to run cooking classes. In addition for use for courses, activities and services offered by the organisation, the facilities are also available for use by other local and district organisations with prior arrangement through Centre management.
In 2015 in partnership with the Golden Plains Shire and the Meredith Kindergarten our modest building has been integrated into a modern new building which has become the Meredith Community Learning Hub.
The Community Centre has rooms available for hire for meeting and social functions of local community groups, not-for-profit groups and training rooms for local and commercial organisations. The two rooms that are available have seating for 20-30 persons, large screen TV available for use with computers and AV equipment, tea/coffee making facilities and a white board.
We also have a computer room available for use with 5 desktop computers, a large screen TV and internet services connected.
Our Kitchen is fully equipped and adjacent to the multipurpose room. It is a full sized kitchen and has has been fitted out to comply with the requirements for a registered kitchen but is not currently registered. Those individuals wishing to hire our kitchen can apply to Golden Plains Shire to register use of the kitchen for a particular purpose or event. This enables selling of prepared food and catering purposes. The registration of the kitchen with the Golden Plains Shire is at the cost of the person who hires the kitchen.
