ABOUT MEREDITH COMMUNITY CENTRE

Meredith Community Centre, Inc. is located in a rural farming district located between Ballarat and Geelong.

The Meredith Community Centre actively contributes to building strong, connected communities in the Golden Plains Shire.

As part of the Central Highlands Association of Neighbourhood Houses, we provide a wide range of courses, services and activities for people of all ages and from a broad section of cultural and social backgrounds and abilities.

We are a not for profit incorporated association, managed by a voluntary Committee of Management  who are active members of our Community.  

Our Staff consists of a Manager along with a wonderful support of volunteers who are fundamental in the running of the programs and initiatives in the Centre.

Community Information

Are you looking for information about support and services available within our local community?

We provide individuals, families and community groups within our Community free and confidential support, information and referrals on a broad range of community issues.

Community Events

We support the development of local community celebrations and events. We have previously celebrated many events such as Get Online Week, International Women’s Day, Neighbourhood House Week, Dignity Drive and our Community Giving Tree Appeal.

The Meredith Community Centre is a Neighbourhood House funded through the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing Neighbourhood House Coordination Program (NHCP) offering support and community activities for people from all ages and walks of life.

The courses, activities and services we offer at the Centre aim to provide for the educational, social, recreational and health needs of all members of our community.

Classes are designed to encourage community based learning in a friendly and welcoming environment. With our motto being “Working for our Community” our focus is to provide opportunities so people can build social connections and networks and develop a sense of community spirit.
