The Meredith Mart was established in 2023 to help ease cost-of-living pressures in our community while providing convenient access to affordable pantry staples and essential food items.
Since opening, Meredith Mart has supported many local families and individuals to access healthy, affordable food, helping to make the weekly grocery budget go further and, for some, ensuring there is a meal on the table.
Through our partnership with Foodbank, we are able to purchase a range of food and pantry staples at discounted prices and pass those savings directly on to our community. We have also been fortunate to access fresh food through the Ballarat Foodbank Hub, enabling us to provide fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as frozen goods.
At Christmas, Meredith Mart has been particularly important in helping ease the financial pressure on local families. The availability of fresh produce and frozen food has provided additional support at a time of year when household expenses can be especially challenging.
Meredith Mart is more than a place to purchase affordable food—it is a practical community service that helps ensure local people can access nutritious food with dignity and without judgement.
